Dina Meyer was born and raised in Forest Hills, Queens, New York, but moved to Dix Hills, Long Island in the last year of junior high school. Her siblings include two younger ones and a brother who is older. Modeling was her first job in the field. It was her first job from age nine to sixteen. Her acting education began at The Neighborhood Playhouse in New York and studied the acting skills of Sanford Meisner along alongside Ron Stetson, for about three years. The other actors who received such education include Sandra Bullock, Michael Douglas, Jeff Goldblum, Leslie Nielsen, Diane Keaton, and many others. Her first role was in the soap-opera Beverly Hills, 90210, which required her to move away from Los Angeles. The first film she appeared in was Johnny Mnemonic. She did all of the stunts in this film, which established her as an athlete as well as an actress. Her agent was Matt LeBlanc, so through her talent agent, she was able to get a regular part in the show Friends.
